I have been on an installation for this very arrogant bloke in the Hazel Grove area and had a massive fall out with him and walked off the job, i gave him a price for the complete installation but have only completed the first fix so at most iam out of pocket by 2 good days labour plus 2 rolls of cable. Where do i stand legally in getting any money for what i have already done, or do i just right it off

What was the fall out over?

I always work on the principle that the customer is always right until it comes to payment time that's when the wouldn't it be nice if's and extras are added to the price and then they don't like the price

he said I was negative about everything, he said you wont do that you wont do this but he was asking me to do stuff which would fall out of scope or it was an extra regarding taking cable back he could have me for tresspassing

depends what your terms and conditions are?
had a similar prob. you can either ask payment for first fix or threaten legal action asking for work carried out so far. could also make him aware that a cert will be req for work carried out which u have not yet issued.?....and that other sparks may not want anything to do with unfinished work already started???? worth a shot.

O bite ur tongue, complete work quoted for with test but get money up front for materials?

I assume the fall out was for money or cost? Remember, contractors have rights aswel so dont be afraid of seeking legal advice, im sure a letter from a solicitor, approx £25 would put the frighteners on him and make him see sense?

good luck.
