Hi went to see a job yesterday for a C/U change, it was and old rewire board on a TT system, told the customer that they need to get the supplier to either put in an isolator or get them out the day they want the change over to happen to pull the fuse, where do i stand if the supplier wont come out to pull the fuse or customer wont pay for the isolator, is it a case of on go the 1000v gloves goggles stand on the mat and pull, never been in this position, and to be honest not really happy about pulling the suppliers fuse, any help or advice would be great cheers.

I wanted to isolate the consumer unit where I live. I had been here for 12 months. I cut off the seal. Pulled the fuse, did the work and then phoned the company to tell them I noticed that there was no seal on their fuse.

Pull fuse, do the job then tell client to contact supplier and inform them they had an electrical emergency on their CU and an electrician had to be called out to replace it....they will seal it next time someone reads the meter.........

If you do pull the fuse, be very carefull, the casing on the older ones can be very brittleand if it hasent been out for a day or two, ...have heard storys where guys have had them break up
