Hi all,

Im not an electrician or anything but looking for some advice. I have brought a new display unit and it has lights in but i am not sure what the connection is and what type of adapter i would need. Hoping someone out there way be able to advise.

A picture of the lamp itself would have helped, but from the picture the cable says 240v, so as long as the lamps themselves are 240v I would imagine the plugs will need to be cut off and then wired into a junction box to enable connection to the mains. If the lamps say 12v then a transformer will be required. These types of cable are usually designed to connect from one unit to the next leaving just the one cable at the start of the run that requires connecting to the mains.
To be sure it would be best to take a photo of the lamp, or get the information printed on it.
 
As above really. There's usually a lead with a 2 pin socket like the ones in the picture on one end and a 13A plug on the other which will plug straight into a wall socket.

You may be able to get hold of one of these from somewhere (maybe B&Q, Maplin or somewhere similar) otherwise if the display unit is fixed to a wall you could arrange for the lighting to be permanently wired as well.
