i helped a friend out by sorting out the mess of wiring in his loft. Took me 3 hours and charged him ÂŁ40, that included all the wagos and wago boxes I used.
Anyway like an idiot I didn’t take into account that 2 of the cables were switch live cables (it didn’t help that none of the neutrals were sleeved, and alof of the cables dissapeared under the loft boarding). So what I did was tidy everything up and jb the lot, obviously now switch live is now into neutral.
Anyway, I powered up and soon realised what had happened, however now 2 of the switches are broken, welded in closed position.
so I’m getting 2 new switches and have to go back to work it what’s what and redo it.
In this instance would you charge again? I did say to him at the start before I told him that is was hard to truly know what every cable is doing because I could trace them all. So I copied what connections where already in place (or so I thought)
What your thoughts on theses situations? Do it for free?
