Advice on Elec Shower Please

We have been asked to finish a re-wire by another electrician and I'm shocked to find the shower pull sw 75mm from edge of bath, have informed client that it's in wrong zone and a potential hazard, and Ive been told it's only temporary for a few months (heard that before) and he doesn't want anything done with it, however the electrician has taken the incoming 10mm in the side of the patrass, now I'm worried about steam getting inside and condensing into water, thus short circuiting inside the pull sw, is writing this down on the test report and informing the customer enough or should I issue a Notice of dangerous electrical work???

What zone is pullswitch in and is the shower on an RCD?

Ran off a 40A MCB which is covered by a 30mA RCD.

Pull sw is in Zone 1

2.25m from the finished floor level is out if zones, which is why pullcords are ideal for bathrooms. But I always use common sense in bathrooms, if the regs state it's out of zone and I think it's still likely to get splashed or suffer with steam or moisture I will still obviously keep well clear of these areas.

if your finishing some one elses re-wire be carefull what you sign off! its your name on the paper work if any thing should go wrong, i would explain this to the customer and if they dont want you to rectify any non conforms i would leave the job, its just no worth the hassle.

I think the ceiling is part of zone 1 if you have an overbath shower as zone one extends 2.25 metres vertically from the highest water outlet, ie, the shower head

Agree with coxy84 if you issue a EIC you have to make good everything you are signing for before issueing the certs.

thanks for all the comments, customer agreed to have the pull sw moved so everything is now ok.
