Advice on exterior timer control

so I have an ip rated double socket outlet on the side of my decking. It's spurred from a double socket workshop which is fed from the house CU (SWA)

Iv fitted some decking lights which have a standard socket fitting. I'm looking at options to have the lights automatically turn on around 6pm-9pm in the evening.

There isn't enough room within the socket outlet to have a standard socket timer.

Is there some kind of exterior timer that I can install online between the lighting transformer and the 3pin plug? I can only seem to find a socket outlet fitting with timer included which would mean replacing the existing outlet.

For the hassle/cost I'd be tempted just to replace the unit. Only £30 or so.

It's probably not the only solution, but maybe the cheapest/easiest.

Any timer you insert before the existing socket will obviously time both sockets.
You could just plug in a lead to another twin single IP box and put a timer in it feeding a socket (or a double box with the timer socket double gang)

Still too big to use on those ip rated socket outlets. It's a squeeze to close them shut with a standard uk plug

not suitable for permanent installation it says in the instructions, use a double outside box instead.
