So i am trapped in the never ending rock and a hard place; I apply for a job and told i need more experience, yet i need a job to get the much needed experience.

I currently work full time but am getting some experience with a local spark this is unpaid.

I am planning on starting my 2365 in september but would like to be working in the industry by then.

Does anyone have any advice or any contacts i could try .... Im willing to travel or relocate if necessary.

Sam

I would suggest getting an up to date CV prepared, grab the phone and ring around the companies in your area or surrounding areas. You might just get lucky and land a job. How old are you?

The reason i ask is it may be worth trying to do the 2357 apprenticeship if you can find employment first.

The age you are will depend on whether you can get funded as an apprentice or not. If you are over 24 then you will not be able to i believe.

Good luck with it all.

Im 30 matey ..... not looking good

The other option is that a company might be more willing to take you on if you have the 2365 Level2 & level3 under your belt.

These could be done as evening classes i think. So it's possible to do while you are already working and you won't need employment in the electrical industry either.

Keep your regular job and go on the Level 2 evening class as above, it takes 2 years. Have a chat with the college about funding, some government grants are available to reduce the costs to you. Worth a shot?

Within the first six months of the Level 2 go for the 17th ed. It will look great on your CV that you already have the 17th whilst in the first year of training. Shows you are serious and some one that is worth while taking on.
