recently completing college i'm looking for work at different companys, is there any advice for electrical interviews, what they expect me to know etc..

dress well mate get to know your cv, and a bit about the company you are going to be working for as this goes down well. good luck with them

thanks, for some reason i get very nervous in interviews even though i'm a pretty confident lad, i don't want them asking me questions and my mind going blank, so is there any questions that tend to come up quite often that i could revise to make sure i have the best answer?

Interview questions seemed to have changed over the years...I interview occassionally but I am more interested in how the candidate handles his tools ....The HR people like those open ended questions like 'what do u think u can bring to the company?......where do u see yourself in 5 years time etc etc......best bet mate is sit upright....dont say errrmmmm a lot and be confident and clear in your answers.

yh make sure you turn up with a cv i interviewd 2 lastweek both had no cv and one turned up as if he was going to the beech.

Dress for an interview, not for work.
Bring along your CV, learn it.
Be confident in yourself.
Don't look at your watch.
Maintain eye contact ( but don't stare).

I find that if you just speak clearly and confidently then the whole situation becomes relaxed and the interviewer backs off.

Some key things for me would be to research the company offering the role. Then if possible, ask some questions yourself regarding the company and role. Interviewers always end by asking if you have any questions,so take them up on the opportunity.

Oh and be punctual.

I was looking for a job a couple of months ago (only temporarily mind). I went to 8 interviews and was offered 9 jobs.

Yea, all helpful.. a big help was the CV i've completed applications so wouldn't think of the CV which is common sense, i've got an interview coming up for an apprenticeship at a company called housing hartlepool, 200 applied final 10, 1 job. Problem is, it's a 'speed interview' i'm sure you're probably familiar but i'm not, it's when theres seperate desks and everyones int eh room going to different desks, each desk asks questions and you have 5 minutes on each to sell yourself, i understand there will be some basic electrical questions which i'm prepared for but when it comes to asking questions, what are good ones to ask?

all replys are appreciated
