Hi all,
i am a mature student (33) and i have just completed my level 2 2330 this year, then the 17th edition, and i have just completed pat testing course. I will be starting my work based nvq level 3 next week. Do i need to do my level 3 2330 as well or is it covered in my nvq. If not can they be studdied together when im at college one day a week? Any advice would be most appreciated

Kind regards

sye

you are supposed to have 2330 3 before you can do nvq3 (although they can run alongside each other) but i know people who got the nvq cert before they completed level 2330.

main point is if you ever want jib approved card then you will need 2330 levels 2,3 and nvq3

What would you class yourself as now? A domestic Installer? Also now that you have passed what you have done so far, what sort of work could you do in someones house? I`m struggling to find anyone who`ll take me on locally so i can gain some experience, which leaves the frightening prospect of working for myself. Yikes!
I`m sure it`ll all become clearer when I`ve finished my level 2, but the whole, notifiable/non-notifiable work is a bit of an enigma to me at the moment. I`d love to know what I can legally do after I`ve done my level 2.

Thanks everyone for your help. My college has now told me that the 2330 level 3 will be included while i do my NVQ but it does not start untill january. I feel i need to do the NVQ as i want to be competent before even thinking of going solo. I guess inspection and testing should be something i should be thinking about in the not to distant future as well ?

always a bonus for the 2391. btw did they tell you it will be the new qualification you will be doing? as far as i am aware you will nneed the am2 test alongside the new nvq framework to be able to claim it

They have not said, i think it may be the old one as i read online that the cut off point is the end of december 2010 for the NVQ. I will have to look into it but for some reason my college never seem to know anything !!!
