Hello, I’m after some more advice on my first rewire, it’s in relation to a under floor heating in the bathroom, firstly should I take the power from the upstairs ring, or run a separate feed to it? (the bloke only decided he wanted it today and most of the cables are already plastered in)
Also where can I site the room stat? I had planned to put an isolator on the outside next to the fan isolator . . . . is there anything I should be wary of?

Thanks again for any advice

Ian

power from ring via FCU.or on it's own circuit. controller adjacent to bathroom door ( outside, as the sensor is wired fron the controller to the heating mat). ideally mount FCU and control unit at a level whereby the LCD display can be read easily. exact location is usually client's preference, as long as the temp sensor will reach the controller. a lot depends on the make and style of the heating system.

Thanks for that, its just that it has a floor temperature sensor but it also does air temperature and the destructions say mount in room that the mat is fitted.
The customer says that he bought it specifically to go in bathrooms.

So much for choosing an easy rewire for my first!

if its designed to go in bathroom, then fine. golden rule is follow manufacturers instructions. FCU needs to be located in accordance with BS7671. re bathroom zones.
