Hello

I've done my levels 2 and 3 2330, 17th edition and a 2377-200. I want to do the NVQ now - what are the "things to complete" list - I'm assuming it's going to be rewire of sockets, lights, swa, piro ect but does anyone know the definative answer - what type of instal for piro? What sort of lighting circuit - loop in, jb system? additional lighting can you just put one extra light on a circuit?
Is there testing involved? Can past instals be included?
any and all answers please - as long as they're not rude well a little rude is ok!!

I'm asking because at the moment I'm doing a maintenance job - as there's a serious lack of jobs going and want to know if it's going to be possible to do the NVQ. Also is there only one sort of nvq or is ther stages ie nvq1 nvq2?

Thanks in advance hope this makes sense....

If it's the electrical installation NVQ you want then it's at level 3. From memory you had to write up 3 jobs (i believe it's now 2) that covered the different criteria set out in the NVQ i.e different access equipment, different wiring systems, cable containmnet, etc etc.

There is also a section on health & safety, and inspection and testing plus others that I dont remember. I think there were about 8 - 10 units in all plus a lot of knowledge questions.

Like I say this is what I remember from back in 2000 - 01.

units 301-308, done 3 times each, meaning 24 separate units in total. as lenny said there are different wiring methods supplying information etc. the nvq you want is at level 3.these can be made up over 3 jobs or more if you wanted it depends how you tie the jobs to the units
