In a kitchen area is there any requirement to have an extract fan as well as a hood ? Am l correct in thinking the hood be sufficient - from a building regs point of view ?

On my plans I've got a hood and a separate wall fan specified by the architect, but the customer is trying to save ££ so was hoping to omit the wall fan.

Would give the building control a call but they aren't the most helpful bunch round here....! Any thoughts please?

Yep as long as it meets the correct flow rates, it does need measuring though with a anomometer
