Doing a EICR and have cable that is has plain green unromovable ie no sleeving to use. I estimate to be 1960's ish. Can anyone confirm?

Solely Green/Yellow earth sleeving and cable sheaths were introduced in the 1977 amendment of the 14th Edition of the Wiring Regulations mate. From the 1970 Amendment of the 14th Green or Green/Yellow was allowed.
So it's reasonable to assume your cable pre-dates 1977.

on the same subject, when were white cables introduced and phased out?, i came across a DB last week with red white and blue for the phases, also ive seen aluminium stranded white singles.

White was the approved colour for L2 later superseded by yellow. Red/White/Blue cable was phased out as Red/Yellow/Blue was introduced coincident with the 1964 reprint of 13[SUP]th[/SUP] Edition of the Wiring Regulations.
