Anyone using agencies if so which are the best for finding electricians especially if they sort the wheat from the chaff.

I was employed once through an agency, which led me to a permanent employment direct, but being on that side of the fence, I can say there was a LOT of wasters, between joiners, sparks, labourers etc.
They seemed to think it was easy money/ didn’t have to work too hard.
That was Dundee area if that had anything to do with it….😄

Some lasted less than a day.

It is hard to sort out the good from the bad, because the agency themselves are trying to sell you good workers…. They’re not going to tell the whole truth.

Kind of like check-a-trade in that respect.

Have worked along side agency workers, some are good and some useless, I am old fashioned never mind CV's and all that carry on.
Give somebody a try an see what that can turn out. The best way all though long winded of sorting out the wheat from the chaff.
100%

Within a day or two on the job site its very easy to ascertain what knowledge and skill someone has or doesn't have

A 2 day job trial is way better than 4 or 5 pages of made up CV
