Does anyone know what the best electricians agencies are? Found quite a few myself, including the general construction / engineering ones. Would be nice to know what ones to avoid, I don't want to waste my time.

Agencies are as agencies do mate, they're all bloody parasites making their money out of your graft for doing not a great deal but in this day and age they're a necessary evil because the employers want people they can dump at a moments notice with no comeback on them.
Don't know where you are but the best (I use the term loosely) up our neck of the woods were Rullion and Hays.
One thing to always bear in mind with them, they're using you so don't be scared to use them.

meridian Business support are a good agency, primarily insudtsrial work, pay is reasonabkle, GPW are also a good agency, pay reasonable.

Yeah, Hays is on my list. I'm down in Kent, not far from London. Haven't got meridian though, nice one. Obviously I'm coming in at the very bottom though, I'm prepared to do anything just to get started, just need the break. I'm spot on with the practical in training just want actual on the job experience.

I use Vital Resources fella. They are pretty good actually, but thats just down to one bloke who sorts me out. Not sure what they would be like up your end. Try em out :) (if they are where you are)

im also in kent. Hays dont pay very well. The shore group are a last resort agency for me, as well as gulmanda, as their rates are crap.

Cheers guys, much appreciated, I'll try em all, obviously got to go in as an electrical labourer / improver, so as long as I can at least get started and get some more experience I'm not that fussed about the dough at the moment. Guy on my course is getting the name of one for me that deals with Briggs & Forrester.

Never mind mate, I thought Vital Resorces was just a local tyneside one
