Agencies?

Hey all i know this has been covered a bit

After starting on my own ive been quite busy working for people, having few odd jobs myself etc.. But now i have nothing, the guy i did work for is now not as busy and dosent need me, my own work has dried up until February.

What is the best agencies to go for, im in the huddersfield area.. Im not bothered so much on wage as long as its not something stupid like £9 / hour or what ever.. Im basically thinking i have two options

Sit on my arse at home and try look for work via posting business cards, going to see business' etc.. and maybe get NOTHING

or

Get on with an agency and do my work on a weekend atm and then go try get work on a weekend, I only started up in about August 2012 so not been going long so not got that many contacts as of yet.

What you think my best option is?

Have you tried a leaflet/flyer drop? Thats what I do when I have a spare day - doesn't always bring instant returns but you get some exercise and fresh air too.

i get excercise lifting a pint and fresh air going outside for a smoke. who needs leaflets?

as Murdoch says flyer some houses, for every 100flyer's you may get 1 job but still worth it IMO...

...also try putting a small add in the local paper, yes an expense you may not want - but if it brings work in then its worth it.

Good luck with that. Most agencies seem to think that's the going rate these days.
