Aheads up

Just thought i would let you guys know that since i've been looking for a new job its not paid off..... However

Even if not in the sector i really wanted to push into (electrics) - i've since put my cv onto CV Library.

Monday was completely none stop on the phone to recruitment companies about jobs in my current sector - FIRE ALARM ENGINEER.

Thursday came and 8am first phone call - job interview offered within 1 hr of looking at CV - Result!!
11am another phone call - another interview - Result!!
3pm at my parents house ready to head off for my holiday (which currently on in Macedonia) - Interview - Result.

Moral of the story - if unhappy with you're status of current employment look for something better - there is always jobs out there but just keep going until you find it.

Actually still waiting on the job i really want which i applied for on monday. Fingers crossed.

Well done for sticking at it, I know its hard for you young guys at the moment....but luckily there is a big gap in the fire sector for good service and install engineers, so know you will do ok.

nice one. fire alarm work is cream compared to slogging away with house bashing or heaving 240mm SWA up onto tray.

Haha this is true!!

I've got 2 offers on the table and just playing an angle from 1 to get alittle more money which i personally dont think is unfair.

Will let you know in due course which I've made.

Well i didnt expect to be saying this but im led in bed for 4-8 weeks with a broken collarbone.
Why is it everything goes against you when you are finally moving up the ladder?

Aw, mate! :( That really sucks. (Also: OW!). Speedy recovery.

Work-related injury, or would you rather not say?

Best of luck. :)

Word of advice, when you start to feel a bit better ring your employer and tell them, say that obviously you're unable to do your normal job but could you be useful in other areas eg basic office tasks. "I'm going out of my mind with boredom etc etc"
Shows incredibly willing.

Cheers trev, however my current employers hate employees with injuries trying to work in the office. Last lad tried and basically got sacked...

Did it at football mate. Boring saturday awful football. Just no point in playing if it gives you this problem [emoji17]

It'll put you in a good light if you offer though. Won't it?
See, I told you football was crap, you're living proof that it's bloody dangerous. Play rugby instead
:)

secret is to move the ball with your feet, not your collarbone.

Haha - expected this...

I went in shoulder to shoulder with a 15-18 stone bloke. He was at full pace; when we connected i forced up while he forced down.... Then took a throw in; took off all my kit and drove to hospital...

Thats harsh mate, life can really test us at times. I am going back to hospital again tomorrow as my metalwork is causing me a lot of pain now. It has been fine for weeks then suddenly i can hardly walk on it.

Hope you make a good recovery mate.
