Air bag light on

Hi all,

I have a vaxhall vivario and the air bag light and engine management light has come on any ideas?

had similar on a peugeot. check the connections under the driver's seat. there's a weight sensor in the seat. if nothing obvious, then get an auto electrician to put on diagnostics. the peugeot problem was a rotary switch on the steering column, replacement part inc. the stalks assembly was £250, then labour on top.

Air bag rotary coupler in steering wheel is a common problem over a large range of vehicles. The only way to really tell is to have it plugged in.

Where does he add plug top

Is it a car with a spanner symbol? (thats usually the service indicator - i.e. minor fault)
could be the airbag needs replaced, or a sensor is failing.
As said get the codes read. Or look on the online auction sites for a vauxcom or an opcom.

or better still, look for a toyota or VW van.

Have you disconnected the battery recently as same happened to my Golf the air bag light stayed on, had to have the sensor reset then all was OK
