Hi

Does anyone have any information on Air Handling Units, such as the components below and what they are for?

- Frost Coil
- Pre-Filter
- Recuperator
- Chiller Coil
- Off Coil
- Heater Coil
- Humidifier
- Final Filter
- Extract Filter

Thanks

Got involved with a few of these many years ago....Have you ever seen an Ice Rink with 2 metre visibility due to fog!!!!!!!!!! That was a crazy time. Once AHUs were up and running again it soon cleared!!!!

BMS is building Management system, Trend is just one of the many Brands and in my view the best
your question are as follows

- Frost Coil- stops your cooling and heating coil from freezing can also be used as your first stage of heating in the winter can be controlled from out side air temperature or an off frost sensor

-Pre-Filter- is the first filter also called a panel filter stops stops big particles of dirt before entering the supply duct

- Recuperator- can be used for first stage of heating and cooling. The supply air passes over the extract air via a matrix thus heating or cooling the supply air

- Chiller Coil- cooing coil used for cooling the supply air

- Off Coil- ? do you mean off frost sensor?

- Heater Coil-heating coil used for heating supply the air

- Humidifier- works like an electric kettle and puts steam into the supply duct to Humidify a building. Dehum is done by opening up the cooling coil

- Final Filter- also called secondary filter or bag filter, this stops the smaller particles of dust before entering the supply duct

- Extract Filter-filters the extract air

What fault finding info do you want?

Have you just got a job as a maintenance man for a building services company?
