installed a wired alarm recently and customer now wants to get it to call him if intruder gets in as he works away what methods are there for this to be done

Depends on the alarm itself if its a cheap one then it might have aux' relay which can be used to signal a device to call any addressed no' and leave a message, if the alarm is more expensive you might be able to get a add on pcb which does the same thing.

texacom dialer juat needs 12v + and - and sw -trig (usally pick up off bell trig) work on any alarm !
