Hi All,

Can someone tell me the rules regarding the fitting of an alarm fused spur, does it have to be installed by a qualified electrician or can the alarm installer do it?

Cheers,
Del

If its an addition to an existing circuit and not in a special location it can be undertaken by any 'competent' person. You don't have to be part P registered or hold any specific qualification.

Thanks for the reply, that's what I thought but it's good to hear what the pros say. I've been out of the country for the last ten years and I used to do electrics but I'm not qualified to issue certificates etc.
