hi everyone
This is my first post to introduce myself.Im 30 years old and currently doing an intense course.I have completed my essential electrics,2382,2377,and part p defined scope, ive still got my full scope part p to complete, along with my cscs and 2391.
Im 3 quarters of the way through my course and its dawned on me how nieve i have been in thinking that you can be trained up with only 4 weeks practical under your belt and sent out into the world doing a job that can potentially kill people or destroy property.
Luckily im an all or nothing kind,im really interested in the technical side of the job and i wanna do it right,so ive invested alot of my own money and time in various books and dvd's on top of the reading material provided for the course.
Its a scary thought that a third of the students was just stood scratching there head at the thought of a 2 way light switch, yet we are now classed as competant persons!!! No wonder employers are looking for experience.
Has anyone reading this been successful in getting a job under the same circumstances? and how did you go about it with having no hands on experience?............ideally under someones wing..........oh and as for my gear ive just bought myself a fluke 1653b multitester that gets pollished more than it gets used, the instructions have been hammered tho
