Hello everybody, newbie here on the scrounge for info. My alternator is faulty on my motorhome and I can't find a 140amp replacement locally but I can find a 110 amp version of the same Bosch part. If I change the regulator which I can get cheaply enough then will this increase the max Amps out or is the max amps limited by the windings.

Cheers for any answers

Hi Dude, 140 amp is quite substantial,so there may be drive or cooling issues to consider.

Also,if there is any controlled split charging system,or similar,on your rig,you may run in to problems capacity wise.

You may be OK,but check with the manufacturer regarding a 21% output deficit.:icon12:

Thanks little spark. Good point but the drivers I'm considering have a sync and communication between driver function. So (as long as it works)...
