Hi guys!

I am confused, I hold:

BS 2330, BS 7671 and BS 2391.

Am I qualified or not?

I tried to apply for a JIB gold card, but they refused that because I don`t have the NVQ level 3.

At the same time I see many adverts for "Total Electrical Training" where you can get "fully qualified" in 7 days!!!! So who is qualified and who is not?

What can I do with my qualifications? Can I set up my own company and work for myself as an electrician?

Thank you!

Zsolt

Qualified, Yes, you are.......competent, only you can answer that:)

The JIB have there own standards and levels of qualification - depends if you want, or need, their acceptance.

If, as you say, you want to set up on your own, then you can do, you don't need the JIB (unless, of course, you want to do site work for contractors who require this).
Qualifications aren't a requirement for this - competence is.

These courses would still have to get you to the level that the JIB require, if you were to want a 'card'

Hope that helps:)

yep, you only need to be competent, and unfortunately you don't get there without making a few *********** along the way

Yeh, basically, the point I was making is - you've got the paper qualifications, if you feel confident and competent - get yourself out there:)

i wasn't disagreeing, but if you've a question its better for more than 1 person to give their view

Sorry, Johno, my mistake

When I replied with my last post, for some reason I thought I was replying to the original poster who asked the question - don't know why:( - so I was just summarising.
