i work in an old hotel with crabtree c50 breakers which we cant get any more and were having a new combi over fitted which requires 63 amp rcd to protect it which is 3 phase what size breaker would you recommend to put before the rcd as we only have a 60 amp also we have a deadman switch controlling the board as theses older boards have no main breaker is it possible to run a smaller new board from this to place the rcd in as well as the main board thanks for any advice or help

we need to know what the rating of this combi oven is first....
bet it aint 60A....lol...
 
As above. The rating of the combi oven is needed.
Also what do you mean by "as we only have a 60 amp"? Are you saying that the 3 phase feeding the crabtree breakers is 60A?

Usually the owner of the Hotel. "If it doesnt need replacing and I can save some money then dont change it" They dont usually think of the long term...
 
By the time they've shelled out for some C50 bits, a new sub board etc, half way to doing a board change!

You know that. I know that. Most of the people on the forum know that..... If they can save a few quid then thats what happens...
