Hi everyone,

I am sitting my AM2 exam a week today and was wondering if the metal trunking, cable tray etc needs bonded back to the MET in the board?

Will you fail if its not bonded or will it be a minor?

Anyone got any ideas?

Thanks.

you don't bond trunking, you earth it as it is an exposed metal part and may or may not form part or all of the cps/s for the circuit/s within. tray normally carries sheathe cables and as such would only need bonding if it were extraneous.

I underatand that the containment systems are already in place but, surely that means I can still bond it to the MET etc. Surely I wont just leave it?
There is no requirement on the AM2 to carry out any bonding of the pre-installed containment/tray etc. Unless the assessor syas otherwise, don't bond it.

I don’t agree with the last part.

EMC and ATEX requirements say otherwise.
