hi
just wondered if anybody here have done an AM2 (Achievement Measurement 2) exam, if so please tell us where did you do and how did you get on with it?
do yu know if i have C&G 2330 level 2 and 3 and will do AM2 and 17ty edition can I get a gold JIB card ?

is it worth doing it without the apprenticeship?

As the previous poster says, you will need the NVQ. The AM2 is used as part of your NVQ so no harm in doing it anyway.

Here the ETT in Ballymena is the only AM2 test centre. They operate the JIB Apprenticeship Scheme so not sure about how a "private entry" if you like works or where your nearest centre would be. Should be a list of them possibly on the NET's website.

Hi.

The centre I did mine in closed last year. I think they've opened a new one in Swansea now, not sure what it's like though.

I believe they are changing the content of the AM2 dont know when or what....I've heard differing versions i.e the MI is being taken out, data wiring is coming in along with an S plan heating system.

What area are you in??

you will only get a junior grading unless you hold nvq3

what do you mean by a junior grade?
last time (2 years ago)i got 'seniour graded electrical trainee' until i do nvq3, had already 2360 part1+2,2391 was hoping to get temparary electricians card if am2 and 17th edition have been unable to get nvq3 as 36 years old and aprentiships dont exist.
i am tempted to advertise for an electrician to sign declaration of competancy for a fee if there are no legal ways of getting cards any help apretiated.

It’s sad that you had to say no more money to them for them to pull their fingers out.
