AM2 Intermediate

Our AM2 spec asks that we take...

Supply in to the first 2 way switch, out to an intermediate switch, out of this to the final 2 way switch and then up to a light fitting.

All has to be done in 1.5 T+E and 1.5 3 Core using the minimum amount of cables.

Does anyone have any experience with this technique as its not something I have ever had to consider while at work or college in the past.

How would you normally tackle this job?

I would take the power (T+E) and switch wire (T+E) to the first switch. Then carry a 3 core in to the intermediate switch and out to the final 2 way switch.

Twin and earth feed to 1st switch, 3 core and earth between switches and twin and earth to light fitting from last switch.

Feed line connects to common of 1st switch, 3 core and earth between 2cores are strappers and third core is neutral connected to the neutral feed. Connect the strappers through the intermediate switch and block the neutral, at the end switch connect the switch line to common and the strappers to l1 and l2 again blocking the neutral through. everything sleeved accordingly for identification and CPC's terminated appropriately. Bit of a rubbish sketch but should give you the gist.
