So we done our first Amd 3 EIC today and the have a whole section in where you have to list the special locations within your works.

What is this trying to achieve?

Nothing mate!!! It's just the pen pushers trying to stick their noses in somet that don't have owt to do with em!!

Just like the scams!!!

And the new 2357 Electro-techinical apprenticeship....dreamt up by numpties!!

Jay

There was also a tick box asking if the connections are tight.

To what torque setting???

It's garbage mate. The reason the BS7671 is NOT statutory, says everything in my book. I could argue with you on one point....and Murdoch could argue a totally different point to both of us.
Who is right??? who knows???? who cares??? as long as we do the job to the best of our abilities, (controversial as well), then what's the problem??

Ohhhh that will be controversial. haha. Inwoukd say however that we should all use BS7671 as our common ground and ultimately aim to satisfy that requirement. NR woukd not suffer us not following it. No way.

I hate the fact that I seem to hit K instead of L on far too many occasions on my phone.

Well if you can't use a phone.....what are you doing being an electrician????lol
I will hopefully know a bit more about NR soon!! I am the TC for some Linbrooke apprentices who are sub contractors to NR and Northern Power grid.

Oh really. I used to work for Linbrooke on the Corp of London contract. They also stole Anglia from the principle contractors I work for.

The apprentices I deal with are from up north....Sheffield depot. They are only level 2 at the moment but there is mention of the qual being a "trail blazer"!! (level 3) I also deal with some Northern Power Grid apprentices. Last time I was down at Linbrooke in Sheffield, I was shown the training they go through......including the NR stuff!! They have a special space for NP training. I am hoping to go down next week to witness/have ago at some live jointing/rail work.

I love the railways mate. Once you get in you won't want to leave.

If they take me away from the wife, then whats the problem.lol

@ UKERARail, I have been invited back down to Linbrooke in Sheffield, next month to do some cable jointing work. They also have some Network rail work to do! Apparently, some guy from crap-factor......Pete Waterman...... is coming up to open the new training centre.

He sleeps with trains. He is obsessed.
