Hi.
iv purchased a copy of BS7671 2008 to amendment 1. Iv got my 17th edition exam next week. On doing an exam simulator provided by electa course I found a question pertaining to EV installations which appears to be drawn from amendment 2.

Have i brought the wrong copy of bs7671?

Can an I print of the 2nd amendment and take it into the exam?

Amendment 2 only related to vehicle charging installations so shouldn't affect you a great deal. Unless that's your specific query then I've got bad news.

What I'm worried about is going into the 17th exam and getting a question on EV. The regs I brought a month ago are only to amendment 1. I paid about £70 for them. Have I been ripped off!

What exam have they confirmed? Seems a little harsh to test people on the 2nd amendment when it hasn't been officially released as yet.

You have the right book, don't worry. The green amendment 1 to 2011 is the latest edition.... until January.
Amendment 2, as stated, was only relating to EV charging points and did not require a new book to be published.
Print it off and take it into the exam.

I doubt very much though that any questions will come from any part of the regs that has been altered since the green book was published.

If there is going to be a question on E.V in your Test, then you'll be given a copy of it to use along with the BS7671.

Whilst on the subject of the 17th exam

How hard is it for a dimwit like me to pass. I did the 16th back in the heady days of 1999!

Also has anyone got any info on where I can get (recentish) past exam papers from. And/or recommend any good online practice exams that you found helped you..
