Each state has their own tests. You should go to that state's Electrical Board web site, search goggle for "State Electrical Boards". Print off the documentation you need to document your experience. We do have different voltage systems here but don't think that would be to difficult to pick up. We use the NEC (National Electric Code) standards here in the states you should be able to buy that book on-line. I heard it was going to be accepted as the "International Electric Code" but not sure it ever did.

It is and has been recognised as such, for a good number of years now. Same being for BS7671 and VDE 0/100 as well as a good few more besides!! The NEC is classified (i think) as NFPA 70, which is part of America's national fire protection regulations... What's very strange about the NEC, is that not all the States in America use the same edition!! That's equivalent to some parts of the UK still using the 16'th ed of BS7671!! lol!! Oh, and there are as many if not more Guides to the NEC as you have to the Reg's too!!

consider taking some training in industrial with an emphasis in plc/slc automation
that field is in my opinion will open many job opportunities for you.
the siemans website offers the step courses that can help introduce you to the power systems
you can download the pdf's or do the courses on line
they are free but lots of good info
heres the link

I will find out on thursday wether i get to the next stage of my green card application.I reckon it will take at least another year.I just got back from there yesterday. There seems to be more opportunity for people who want to get off thier arris and make something of themselves
The last time I heard, people from the UK and India were excluded from making green card applications to the USA, whereas every other country in the world is open to it.....wonder why india is excluded.....I mean I know why the UK is excluded, we get shafted as a matter of normality...

Depends on whether you've stated you're a Jock or NI person!!! If you say English then it's an automatic strike out! lol
