Hi
I have been asked to connect a s series propak hotub. The installation manual is all American based and the wiring diagrams for the connections is all American. I am not to sure if a uk 240v supply can be connected. The terminal block has four points to connect. Line 1 120v line 2 120v ground and neutral. The hot tub can run on 240v but it is with a 240v across line1 and line2. Do I need to transform the voltage to 110v therefore I may need two 110v transformers. Or is a case of connecting my 240v supply into line 1 and link it with line 2.
Anyone come across this before?

Isn't that 240 across 2 phases?
There are people on here who know more about US wiring systems than me but I think you may have a pretty big problem getting this to work,

Why do people pay good British money for American (or any other countries) products and expect them to work here when there are perfectly good products available here that are pretty much guaranteed to work without any problems using our good old British (well French in some cases) (soon to be Chinese) electricity

I need to take some more pictures of the information on the pump and the power supply/controller to see if there is any information that may help about frequency and voltage. I would like to think with being sold in the uk that it was possible to connect to 240v 50hz supply.

Of course you can connect the L1 & L2 (240V) to our line and neutral, there must be literally thousands of Hot Tubs manufactured in the USA and Canada working happily in the UK. Though i've never seen one shipped to UK/Europe or elsewhere, with components rated for 120V!! I think you'll find that on checking the data plates the motors and heaters, they will be suitable 50/60Hz. If you are unfortunate, anything that doe's require a 120V supply will need either replacing or be supplied by a suitably sized TX....

Is it this manual you are looking at?

If so just think about the voltages involved and to what they are connected.

I don't know about anyone else here, but that instruction manual has be in contention for the worst laid out manual ever. I couldn't read the majority of the fancy (and totally uncalled for) script choice. Most of the time i was having to guess what was written/stated!!

But from what i can make out, they manufacture two versions a 120V/240V and a 240V, so hopefully you have the 240V Jobby!! ...lol!!

Is there any control gear in there? If there is you could be in for fun and games. 120V Ph→N isn’t going to come by linking L1→L2 at 230V.
Heating elements and any pump will probably be OK but check first. Any relays or contactors will need changing.

Comes in two versions from what i could make out from that god awful manual, a 120/240v (probably for the States and Canada) and an all 240V version, probably for UK/Europe and virtually everywhere else!!
