I was just wondering if anyone is experiencing some problems with the new amtech 2012 fasttest software?

We recently updated our software and have been experiencing loss of data and information from our databases, and some cases entire installations have been removed!I had this problem back in 2009 but the problem has reocurred once more! If you have any similar cases or even the solution it would be great if it could be shared!

Also what are your views on the new EICR format, personally I think its a complete pain!

Cheers in advance guys,

John

yeah we had issuse as well but the support guys sorted it out although we donot use the fastest for out certs, but i have notcice that the EICR report is only avalible in the britsh standerds format and not the NICEIC format etc is yours the same ? as were contemplating now using the amtech sftware for our certs

cheers

Yeah, the only format available for the EICR is the BS format, we feel as if we are beta testing the software, as the faults we have come across using this one format appears to be never ending! Although i got word back from a support engineer at amtech that a web patch is due out very soon, how soon though they never said! as per usual.

I was told Patch is available BUT our IT dept are a bit reluctant to do it on all machines untill our GuiniePig guy has had it and made sure there arent any problems installing ect ect ect

Im also feeling like beta tester and although Amtech support are good they are very busy right now and takine an age getting back to us

as for the EICR what a pain im going to have with 3rd page for every board when iv got 40 boards min on hotels :(:(:(

You do not have to include an inspection schedule for each distribution board, unless of course your client has asked for that specifically. Your main inspection schedule across page 3/page 4 should be sufficient. The page is available and has been for almost a week now. All our guys are now running the patch and have noticed a definite improvement in the software. The front page layout is still a pain to read and when I'm QA'ing reports I repeatedly have to flick back and forth from the front page to the last continuation sheet...it's a hard life! The auto generation of defects from the inspections schedule is also a pain if you are like me and you like to enter your own defects in your own personal way. If you have any problems or questions just give me a shout.

cheers mate Im still using PIR format just now and my office are still "playing around" with it I have had a look at the EICR but only briefly THANK god I dont have to summary every db altho I can see where this would be usefull
and thanks for the offer of help as even tho my office may have a solution there are bound to be somethings where 5 heads are better than 2

That is very cool. It would be the end user software that would make that the absolute king.
