Hi all newbie here just to let you know about yesterday, well there i was relaxing as i,m not back in work till next week when the phone rings and its one of the lads who has gone to his works to sort some stuff out after the hols only to find the power is off.anyway i go out and after checking the rcd etc decide to visit the swichroom,we go into the building where it is and find the door smashed off then looking around find broken plastic everywhere (meters all smashed) and lots of cut cables.Tested the cables and they are still live, turns out whoever broke in turned off isolators and then cut the feeders somehow without killing themselves in the process as they had cut on live side,I then find out they broke into the substation on site as well.Anyway after about 3 hours I managed to dis all the damaged gear and get power back on and inform supply authority re meters etc,I would say they did about 4 grands worth of damage for about 30 quids worth of scrap not to mention the risk to life with the exposed live cables.Time for stiffer penalties perhaps, anyone else had similar?as it seems rife in the northwest

its when they start going for the DNO neutral/pen conductors though when it really starts to effect everyone....perhaps it will take for voltages to start appearing where they shouldnt at no 10 before something is really done about it.....:behead:
