I thought some might be interested in my annual inspection by NAPIT.
Got x6 NCs.
One was silly because he arrived with it and it said not all NCs from previous year had been cleared. They had been, but not properly marked on the NAPIT computer, so he cleared them on the spot.
The next NC was probably deserved and it was that I had not completed a dc checklist for a pv installation. With the introduction of the new MCS pv guide, there is the array test report at Annex C, but no dc checklist as required by IEC62446. I used to do them by must have let it slip from following the new MCS guide too literally. Hope you are all doing them.
There were then x2 NCs for solar thermal and x2 NCs for solar PV where my handover documentation was not in accordance with the latest MCS standards 3001 and 3002.
The installation handover packs were from autumn 2013. The new standards were issued on 16 Dec 13. My assessment was in the last few days of Jan 14. The standards came into force on 16 Mar 14. So I was being judged on installations against a standard that had not been issued and was not yet in force! BOHICA came to mind, an expression from a previous life.
Anyway, I judged it easier to clear the NCs than argue whether they were all appropriate and I have had them acknowledged as cleared, which at least means I have had practice using TSPEC and compliance certificates and indeed used them for real since.
I am sure all these inspections are good for something.
