identify two specific items on a new pvc conduit and trunking installation which are to be inspected using the sense of touch, before the cables are installed, stating what is being checked for in each case?

check its suitably fixed,
and expansion and contraction have been allowed for.

doesnt really warrant the 6 marks available which is why im struggling, and beginning to wish id not forked out for it

You want to read what the questions asks, this is key for the 2391. I must admit 6 marks seems high but the questions ask for 2 items AND for what you are checking.

So from your answer above which is correct but for 6 marks probably too brief:
Apply pressure to the conduit/trunking to ensure that the fixings are strong enough to withstand the intended weight of cables and likely mechanical outside influences.

Check inside all couplings that there is sufficient physical space within the couplings to allow for the expansion and contraction of the conduit/trunking experienced under the expected ambient temperatures so as to prevent distortion and bowing of the containment.

This is probably too wordy for an exam answer but does have a description of what you are checking and why you are checking it.

the question asks " using the sense of touch". i would say 1 answer is to tug at the trunking/conduit to ensure it's firmly fixed.

The senses questions seem to be the easy ones with generic answers with a little common sense I hope I get 6 marks for something like that in my exam in July if you're struggling with this good luck with the rest of the paper

you ask a genuine question n then get a reply like this, cheers mate.

im fairly confident with the rest of the paper this question just stumped me abit, but then after all the revision last night n questions etc i didnt know if i was coming or going by the end of it.

Generally if there are 6 marks available, they are looking for 6 points to be recognised. Answer questions like Richard, and you will go far.

I agree with what Howard says but 6 points? That implies 6 bits of info when it only asks for 4. ie. two checks and two reasons?
I'd have said waggle it to check for security and feel around to check for sharp edges although that is only 4 bits of info and sharp edges in PVC is stretching it a bit.......

But then I have made me views on 2391 questions clear in the past ;)
