I am 2382 qualified, NICEIC domestic Installer for Part P.
I do NOT have 2391 yet.
Can I work on power in a house converted into 6 flats: TN-C-S incoming supply is 3 Phase, but then splits to 7 individual meters (one for each flat and one for landlords supply to communal areas). From each meter it's single phase.....can I work on the flats and the landlords supply?
I am thinking YES, I can.................

Flats no problem, 3 phase no problem if you are confident and know what you are doing but if customer wants an NICEIC cert for 3 phase work you might have a problem so check first

Its just the single phase stuff I'll be working on, Chris.
Actually I won't be covered by NICEIC for it anyway as I am installing alarm systems and they don't cover domestic installers for that.
I spoke to them and they said I could issue non NICEIC certs for it, and submit them directly to LABC without the need for them to inspect, but they would not submit the certs for me, til I am an Approved Contractor. Seems a bit bizarre to me, but they said I am fine to install alarms, just not through them!!

They dont want to know cos you havent paid the dosh. Issue NICEIC EIC for the install that you are entitiled to do then issue seperate cert for the alarms I think would be the best way forward.
