another case of can`t be bothered

If we went in and issued them a danger notifcation they still dont listen till its too late how much do us sparks have to do to make people realise ,all we here time and time again well its been ok for years we have not had any probles (this was said to me by a guy whos shower was wire in 1.5 three core flex pics on here )

had something similar in a local pub in the gents fcu to the hand dryer smashed to bits less than 30 cm away from the sink everything exposed told the manager who said he would sort it straight away asked me to turn off the supply. went back for a meal a month later still broke in the same condition and turned back on. told him he was being reported to the local council hse etc, funny how his face went drip white no charge for the meal as there was one in the van to replace it. it annoys the hell out of me that these idiots know about it and do nothing. lets hope there are more of these prosecutions and that they are well publicised before someone is killed

And thank god the kid survived with just burns..and what are the odds that the brewery had a pir done in every one of their outlets within days of the incident?

i know it would not solve the problems out there but the insurance companys should refuse to insure them without a current pir. now i know that there would be some who would only get the loop test at the socket firms in but if it made 10% of the places safer it would at least be a start and keep us all busy for a while.

did a PIR at a large builders merchant 115 deviations including : a 3036 fuse board with no spark cover above 2 large buckets of creosote ,in a room below an office with 30 people in it , 15 meter strip of cable with the insulation chewed off by rats , this ran behind steel racking ,and even worse a live cable dangling in the door way of a shed live the light fitting was knocked off by a fork lift 2 years earlier i walked out having issued a danger notifaction ,and got -------ed by my the boss he was good friends with the owner , well i slept well ......

with what just i have seen over the last few years i am astounded more people are not impaired killed or burner to death, and thats just me and what i have seen. i am not often surprised any more, although infuriated at times.

spot on phil..i would say extend that to domestics too, councils by me are starting to comply more now, (probably so they don't get sued in the future), but private houses are so far behind current safety.

Brick wall bang heads together , one that realy stands out was a Pir i did and in the bathroom was a socket next to the bath and i mean next to the bath on the tiled wall next to the bath , i told her it would have to go and she got upset and said how would she dry her hair when she was in the bath 3036 fuse ,and thats no joke either ,some where i have a picture of it

priceless. what the hell goes through their tiny minds when installing a socket like that i would love to know. yeh the same should apply to the private and rented houses. the trouble is the only time anything like this is changed is when there are loads of fatality's and god forbid we get them it`s just a shame no one listens beforehand.

she probably ran an extention lead from a bedroom as soon as you went m8...she can plug the toaster and kettle in at the same time then....the mind boggles:eek::eek:

Bloody disgusting. It also makes me sick that even the magistrates have to watch what they say nowadays - a 'potentially serious electric shock'; No, I'm sorry, a toddler has been left with blisters and burns - it IS a serious electric shock, nothing potential about it. It's a potentially FATAL shock. And how the hell can this firm be called responsible. The way they've acted is wholly irresponsible. We can argue till the cows come home about part p or a licence for sparks, but until something happens to this public ignorance it will always be the same.
