yes it was either a code 4 or 2 ok then in that case as a code 2 when would you apply a code 2 if for example there is 3 inches of earth and an inch of sleeving os 2 inches of sleeving ???

can i still call it earth. can i still use inches
and telectrix thanks for the prompt reply but dont you go to work
ps
i'm just leaving for work

quiet day today. i'd be inclined to give short sleeving a code 4 if there didn't seem to be a danger of it causing a fault. and what alternative is there to inches?

I heard an apprentice chippy say that something was 4 inches and 2mm the other day. Well, I guess it might have been but I'm not going to try writing that down in shorthand!!

Code 2 is to be used to indicate that the observed deficiency requires action to remove potential danger, (no immediate risk).
I would argue on this occasion that whilst it falls down on the lack of identification, there is no immediate, or potential danger to the end user. I would code this as a 4.

agreed, i would generally code 4, but as i said earlier, if it looked like there was a danger of the bare cpc shorting to a line or neutral ternination then i would give it a code 2.

True. Although I'd hazard a guess that things like woodworm treatment are probably chemically quite similar? Don't know.
