So changed a CU and doing CPC check,
1. a circuit going to an aerial booster in the loft had been crimped and taped together instead of jnc box(in the loft), so couldn't gain access to cpc without dismantling the 'connections'.

Should i undo the connections to do the CPC test or just list on schedule of test results that couldn't access terminals of circuit to test? ( i dont want to take responsibility of this circuit by dismantling it)

2. The built in cooker couldnt be removed so i tested at the cooker switch and noted that the test was to cooker switch only! this ok?

3. Their was a circuit going to the bathtub SPA bubbly thing, again i couldn't gain access to the termination of the circuit as it was sealed under the bath. i noted i couldn't complete CPC or Zs test on schedule of test results.

4. also, the tails from the supply cut out run for about 1meter, 2mm below the plaster and not in safe zones, what you advise i should do about this? - Note it?, advise customer/DNO? i dont see another way of getting tails to cu other than surface mounting them.

What would you recommend guys??

thanks

For what my opinion is worth:
1- No means of isolation so I would suggest that they (you on their behalf) fit a plug and socket. In meantime I would note that cannot access as you suggested.
2- OK
3- As you suggested but there needs to be access to all non permanent connections also I am sure local isolation is needed, cannot remember regs. As it is a special location you need to check regs on what accessibility is required, need to use a tool from memory if under a bath but I would want to check Zs on a circuit like this.
4- Not acceptable, tails will need to be surface mounted or run in earthed metal conduit. Or use SWA, I think that is acceptable, what is length of tails? Do you need protection at meter?

All the usual small print applies to the above, you are the person signing, you need to be able to justify your decisions/recommendations.

I'm assuming that these are problems with the existing installation, and not within the extent of the work covered by the EIC.
As such any problems associated with the inspection and testing, and any defects found should be noted under 'comments on the existing installation'.

Hi Spinlondon, yes these are problems with the existing installation.

the extent of the work is CU Change only.
I will make sure these defects are clearly noted.

thanks
