One question relating to an earthing conductor clearly asked ‘what would be confirmed by inspection…’ but many candidates included testing of continuity in their answers, thus indicating that the question had not been read fully.

So I was thinking the following:

1)Size of the earthing conductor
2)Whether it was adequately protected against corrosion and mechanical damage
3)Whether it was appropriately labelled at the earth electrode in a TT system
4)What material the earthing conductor is made of

Anyone else have any thoughts...

Surely inspection could be a way of checking the presence of an earth, albeit if followed by measurement, especially over a short run?

Otherwise as others have said correct identification (eg sleeving)?
Quality of joints?

Which exam is this for?

In answering the question the trick is to understand that they have only asked "By inspection". So testing and the measurements gained have no relevance to the question. The op and Richard Burns have answered the question in the way that the C & G would have wanted (IMHO).
