Dodgy facts and figures:

ÂŁ7200 for a 2kWp system?
ÂŁ10000 for 3kWp?
ÂŁ12800 for 4kWp?

ÂŁ120 per year to wash your panels?

They seem to be combining last year's installation prices (when EPCs were irrelevant) with this year's FiT. No wonder the returns look poor.

Complete codswallop imo.

dont worry i sent them an email stating the facts so everybody fill out there contact form and abuse at will... I did it three times...

I cant see how they can sue an installer/s if we used SAP 2009 and REAL code?

Even if the system under performs we can make the sun shine can we?

In order to pursue a claim it will be necessary for you to have either paid for part of the transaction by using a credit card or by taking out finance which has been arranged by the installer.

In the instance that you have paid by cheque, debit card or charge card then our solicitors will need to carry out a viability check on the supplier before proceeding to ensure that if your claim is successful that such supplier has the funds available to meet your claim.

Does that suggest that they are mainly going to be seeking compensation back from credit card co's?

My complaint to them.

I've just been made aware of your website, and have a complaint about a company miss selling their services - it's you.

You're using massively out of date solar PV prices to produce your payback figures, which then unsurprisingly result in the payback figures being poor. We last sold a 4kW system for ÂŁ12,800 about 15 months ago, with the industries current prices being approximately ÂŁ7-8,000 fully installed.

The rest of your figures are similarly wrong, and I believe the EST have recognised this as they seem to have removed PV from their calculator entirely.

Also, panels cleaned 4 times a year? I doubt most of our customers have yet needed to have their panels cleaned once, so this is a load of rubish.

EPC - the vast majority of current band E properties will achieve a band D once a 3-4kW solar PV system has been installed anyway, so the figures for houses unlikely to achieve band D without any other works being carried out is more like 20-25%.

Also you've not updated you website information about the FIT cut which is now coming in August not July.

All in all, for a company that's complaining about the solar industry miss selling, you're doing a pretty shoddy job yourselves.

Take this as a warning to sort your act out before I and others make a complaint about your misleading sales tactics.

I had this reply, which seems positive, and they have added a paragraph to their page, but still have the old EST figures up as well.

Thanks for your email the content of which has been noted.

We will update our website this week to reflect the cost of the panels as advertised on your website and adjust the break even figures accordingly. We will also adjust the date change of the FIT which was announced on the 24th May but had been overlooked and adjust the panel cleaning to twice a year.

The strategy of our advertising is that we only tend to target adverts towards companies that have ceased trading and we use the names of such companies in our key words and don't knowingly allow our adverts to be focused on companies that are still trading. We are sure you are aware that in all industries there are good and bad companies in existence and it is the cowboy operators whom tarnish the name of the good companies too. We have attached an advert from the papers at the weekend that shows that there are a number of companies in your industry that other claims companies are speculating have delivered a poor service and it is these companies whose customers we are specifically targeting and not companies such as yourselves.

We are sure that you are probably aware that there are many solar companies out there whom are inflating the potential returns on their websites in order to attract customers and in addition there are also companies whom are lack a degree of competence when installing the equipment and are just out there to take the money and run. One of the solicitors we work with highlighted this point to us when he discovered the company he had used had failed to connect up his system correctly.
