The discovery of a man's body, thought to have been electrocuted near an Essex railway line, could be linked to an attempted cable theft, police said.

Officers were called to Hadleigh in Essex shortly before 07:00 BST after reports of disruption to power lines.

The body of the man, in his 40s, was found and police believe the death may have been related to cable theft.

Probably not, BR could be on thin ice here, one way they could help is to install emergency phone points every half mile or so along every track, like on motorways, then prospective thieves could call to have the power turned off.
