A 2.5 kw heater is in use for 7.5 hrs daily and energy costs 7.1p per unit. What is the total cost of running the heater over 28 days?

Answers please with working out shown.

2.5 x 7.1 = 17.8p per hour

17.8p x 7.5h = £1.36 per day

£1.36 x 28days =

£38.08

2.5*0.071=0.1775, thats your use for 1 hour (kW/Hr)
*7.5=1.33125, thats for the day,
*28=£37.275 total.
that sound right?

Pmac i have your answer as one of the option even though they have rounded it up but i do not have yours durhamsparky but your way of working it out makes total sense to me, these questions are totally messing with my mind lol

we both used the same method, i used fractions of 1p, Durham rounded up, who would you prefer reading your meter????

dont really matter who reads the meter as the METER reading will be the same... just depends on how the Billing company work out the bill...!!

no it wont mate, it will read the product of hours x 17.75pence, not 17.8, if fractions of pence werent important they wouldnt be used, im all for rounding down thougth
