My electrical training started in 1995 with a 2360 L2 due to my stage lighting job, after a brake doing in another industry in 2009/10 I done my 2330 Level 2 & Level 3. Since then I have been running a small general property maintenance business for a few landlords. Iv recently been asked to undertake a few full refurbs including replacing CU’s and rewiring kitchens, installing new outside lights, faceplates etc.

I am confident in my knowledge and well equipped and can undertake a full inspection and test on new installs and periodic inspection and got a distinction on this area on my 2330.

What C&G courses do I need to do to allow me install and sign off domestic and light commercial work??? I recall the Testing and Inspection certificate (2391/2???) and 17[SUP]th [/SUP]… iv spent every evening for a week now searching and seem to find tons of companies telling me I need to give them lots of money.

What dose the 2330 cover. What do I need for domestic and light commercial. Im not currently in need of a JIB cards etc, but would be nice in the next couple of years to be NIC approved.

Thanks
Ian

You need to join one of the Part P self cert scheme providers. Elecsa, Napit, NIC etc etc. They will inform you of the minimum requirements (usually 17th edition) to sign up, give them a call, and ask. It will cost you around £600, plus all the books you need to have, plus a grands worth of calibrated test equipment, and a few other things like insurance.

Cheers...............Howard
