is it needed for bonding galvanised steel girders?

bonding galvanised steel girders-if you're drilling and tapping

is anything needed apart from a bolt and a lug

I wouldn't have thought so mate. What i would do on a galv girder is clean with a wire brush then drill and lug as normal and then spray with cold galvanised spray to stop any corrosion.

Mainly used Penetrox anti oxidising compound when doing lightning conductor connections alu to alu, alu to cu and alu or cu to steel. Unless you are bonding steelwork externally and it is open to the elements I wouldn't bother with it

The main thing to watch out for is galvanic corrosion with these connections, I have seen alot of bonding and lightning conductors fail where disimilar metals are connected together and open to the elements

Whilst it states Copper /Ally and Ally / Ally, also good for all joint to decrease resistance and help against corrosion and oxidising.

I use it all the time.
