Hi Guys , totally new to the world of pv , as a qualified spark's could you tell me if investing in a 4-5 day pv install course ( where's the place to be ?).
Sorry to be a pain in advance , and thank you for any help you could give me .
There is a abundance of courses , but some better than others ??

thanks Paul

Hi, i did mine at ecoskies Chesterfield, and I do not rate them, course was crap, missed out loads of info. Having said that it has been over a year ago so it may have improved by now. My qualification is one of their own course's, but i wish i had done the 2399 course, and i may still do it. I have heard a place in wales and York do a good course, don't know the names sorry.

The best reviews are for th CAT centre in Wales. Expensive, resedential course, but extremely good. Not sure what qual they hand out, but Centre for Alternative Technology Home Page is their site. The venture is backed by Dulas Solar.

Remember the course is the easy and cheap bit, make sure you thoroughly research the costs to train, register, set-up, additional fees etc. Cash flow can be a prob at the start, so cash in the bank is essential.....

If you're self employed and going to do PV yourself, criteria for MCS is that you need to show some competance. That can be gained by doing a PV course (as you know) - lots of courses around ranging from 3 days to 5 days. Depends on where you are based but C&G seem popular - not done it myself - my Logic Certification course (3 days) was enough for me and proabably for most!

Know a few guys that have done the resi course in Mac......all said it was v.good and worth the £1K tag.

dont bother with the one in York it was rubbish. the tutor was working it out as he was going along!
