Hi everyone, ive been on this forum for a while now usually hiding in the backround.. reading rather than posting, anyway ive decided the time has come to try and set up for myself again. Ive always done my own jobs, as we all do, but i dont seem to be getting much through anymore ! i used to advertise in yell.com and yellow pages etc when times where a bit better, but that was a few years ago. So i'm going to try emailing a few companies to try and drum up sum work, even if it only gets my number saved in a file, its there for when their current spark slips up.

So what im asking is if anyone has any advice on how to word the letter, as in who to address the email to like sir/madam fao: maintenance manager etc. Would you go as far as to state a price list for callouts , within a postcode etc and safety certs(eicr) , maintenance etc. i dont think i need to go too indepth just enough to sound professional and competant. The sort of thing im after i suppose is reactive maintenance on dwellings and small to medium commercial, offices, warehouses?

Anyway any help or advice you could give would be greatly appreciated!

I made up A6 (postcard size) double sided flyers and got 5000 printed off by printsmarter for £65 and got a few jobs out of it plus I still have a pile but I do target certain properties as I do small electrical repairs this includes houses £200k plus and if passing in the morning I will pin one to the communial notice board in a block of flats (do it in the morning because the service buzzer is active for the postman) but you do not say or specify what services you are supplying ie I do small electrical and burglar alarm repairs so what or who are you targetting. Also if you have MS publisher I can send you the template of my flyer.
