hello all

Just after some advice, basically i want to improve my knowledge on boilers and central heating systems

can you recommend any books that would help have a better understanding of this? i have domestic central heating systems and controls by ray ward but its to complex

also does anyone know of any courses avaliable or any that you have done that you could recommend

This course is intended for the electrician or domestic electrical installer who requires the ability to offer the services of installation and maintenance of the electrical systems relating to domestic heating control systems.
Completion of this five-day course will enable them to undertake both the installation and maintenance of domestic heating control systems. The course includes detailed theory and practical projects which underpin the fundamental aspects of domestic heating systems. Both the theory and practical projects are formally assessed.
Course Content

• Overview the relevant health & safety requirements.
• The relevant statutory regulations, regarding domestic heating systems.
• Have knowledge of different types of heating systems.
• Have knowledge of heating control devices, wiring and concepts of heating control.
• The assessment of the suitability of a domestic installation to accommodate heating control wiring.
• Installation and commission the most common heating control systems, using the appropriate tools & instruments.
• Perform fault finding techniques on heating control systems, using the appropriate tools & instruments.
• Complete the appropriate documentation to comply with the requirements of the wiring regulations.
