Any Reason Why Timer Fan Not Work As Manual?

Hi Folks.

First post for a while. I've got a timer over-run extractor fan to fit for a customer as requested, but he's now asking for a manually controlled one. Apart from taking it back to the supplier ......... Is there any reason why I can't just leave out the permanent live, and it will work manually? Would that work? Can't see why not myself but thought I'd get a few opinions.

Just take the timer part out and connect to the fan wires, simples

Sounds fine to me and if he changes his mind its just a case of connecting it up with the permenant live too

You'll need to link the switch and perm live terminals in the fan with a switched live for it to work.

i found that on some makes.

From memory you have to connect both permanent live and switch live together at the fan , then just feed them with a switched live .
If you just remove the permanent live it will not work .

Or just turn the timer right down to its lowest setting
